This booking is for two sessions
Batik uses layers of wax on fabric along with dyes to create a unique image. This is a two-session workshop. In week 1 you will make an experimental piece by drawing with a tjanting, brushes, mark-making tools and dyes to explore this traditional technique. During week 2 you will explore these techniques further, using layers, and will have the opportunity to use a dye bath to create a distinctive batik look to your work.
These classes are social, relaxed sessions aimed at all abilities. We will learn a wide variety of techniques from relief printing, screen printing, intaglio printing, dyeing and batik. Most sessions are single mornings but occasionally the technique will require two sessions so this will require both to be booked - the choice is yours!
Dyes are provided but please bring or purchase your own fabrics on the day. Suitable for all - experienced or not.
£50 for the two sessions.
